Senior housing is a scam. They get tax breaks to build it. People move in and feel comfortable. Then the rents shoot up and there is no other place for them to go. That is elder abuse. If you can't trust senior housing to be an affordable place for seniors to stay, don't call it that. They think they can stay there the rest of their lives like they were in their own homes. Then they find out they are just a paycheck to the owner, and they can be bounced out as easy as changing a ledger. How does the owner define losing money? I want to see the books. Anyone can say they are losing money. A studio is already $1,100 per month. What are the expenses for that causing this guy to lose money? I am not buying it. The seniors who make it to old age are the ones who stay in their own houses until the end.
