Russia seems really welcoming to just say come on in with full rights of a citizen after just fighting for the enemy. I guess this guy doesn't want to get captured and end up like Aidan Aslan begging to be exchanged before he gets executed. If someone is losing a fight and you invite them into your home, is that even wise? He wants freedom in Russia, but does he even love or respect Russia? It almost seems like letting the enemy in to rest and relax and then plot some kind of revenge.

It sounds like he didn't care for the way the criminals were taking over and running wild in Kherson, so he is defecting to Russia. I think he wants to be on the winning side and stay in his town. He and his wife don't look happy or grateful at all to get Russian citizenship. Usually when people get US citizenship, they are happy and smiling and gushing about how much they love the USA. Do these people hate Russia but just fear the Ukraine army so much that they are changing sides? They don't seem like a barrel of fun to have for neighbors. Will they be loyal to Russia now, or is this just a matter of expediency? Are they scared Ukraine will come after them for defecting? It doesn't seem like that army is organized much anyway.
