OK he thinks those Manson people were all nice people who were manipulated. I disagree. I think Manson knew who to recruit, how to recruit them with the help of CIA agents trying to destroy the hippie movement under MK Ultra, and how to get them to come to a consensus that random killing and mayhem was just a fun pastime. A decent person isn't manipulated to that extreme. If they are drugged and conned, they either get a clue and try to escape, or self-destruct. There is a certain thing that is a core character that can't just be cookie cutter manipulated.
I think all of Manson's followers were narcissistic and evil, and the just took that and ran with it as a kindred spirit. When he tried to get over on the Beach Boy's Brian Wilson, the guy figured it out and got rid of them. Then this Spawn Ranch man was so weak, he couldn't get rid of them when they took over his property. They were smart, Manson was especially, but also, they were led by the CIA. The prosecutor was thwarted at every turn trying to get them locked up because of Manson's powerful connections. Helter Skelter was a CIA plot that the Beatles even sung about.
Rick Ross is smart and knows some things, but I don't agree with all he says. You have to read the Helter Skelter book written by the prosecutor. I think a really cool movie about it is the one starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Bradd Pitt. It is a fantasy version of it, but it kind of gives you a real flavor of how they operate. There are still dirty fake hippies like that taking advantage of real hippies to this day. It is an ongoing program. There are some people they can't break, so they try to kill them, destroy them, in subtle ways or maybe even secretly. They try to get people hooked on drugs, locked in jails and mental wards, etc. They are no good pretending to be all innocent peace and love people or naive children.
