  1. At least when you see people in tents, you know that they have somewhere to go. When you see no one in tents, no one who looks raggedy or lost, you have to wonder where these people went and if they are even still alive. When you know the cheapest rentals have waiting lists and requirements let alone a high price, you know that there are people can't make the cut. Where are they? Are they being silently killed off? People used to tolerate the presence of the poor, now they don't. Their dwelling places are left to fall into disrepair until they are condemned and then never restored. It not like you can even sleep in your car in peace in a lot of places. Then a lot of the homeless are absolutely vicious. There isn't necessarily comradery or community with them. They would want to see you lose everything you have in a heartbeat.
