They were probably human traffickers in flack wear in case someone fought back and maybe with hypodermic needles in the bag to knock out the victims. I think you did the right thing for you at the moment. Everyone winds up in their own scenarios and has to react based on their own circumstances. You took what action you needed to and averted the situation, so you did the right thing. I would have liked the pictures and that story to have gone to the police on or the internet anyway to expose them. Does your daughter know what human trafficking is? Maybe get her in some self-defense classes. She knew that they wanted to take something from her, but thought she didn't have anything for them to take. Maybe she didn't realize they wanted to take her freedom. Paranoia is a good thing to have. It isn't dangerous until it hampers your life. If it saves your life, it is called being street smart.

That happens a lot at corporations. They give you an extensive personality test with random scenarios and questions. One place asked if you would like to skydive to work at a discount department store. At the phone company, they asked if you saw someone stealing on the job, would you report it. Think about that. Would you report someone taking a pencil home? What do they mean by stealing? Do they want rats and tattle tales running around? How about minding your own business?

Bosses act like tyrants like they get of on power tripping and being callous towards people. If you don't let people live normal lives while working for you, people aren't going to want to work. Then they complain they can't find employees, but no one wants to work for a boss who treats them like a slave or a spare part. This lady has a talent for management if she can manage all these male roommates. Maybe she should have hired an assistant to stir and pack the candy while she just oversaw the operation. It is a shame when people retire out of their profession and leave no one to take their place. At least she is still fighting to keep her place and not giving in to the high cost of living.

He was looking for an excuse to start a fight and disrupt t to he party. I think your friend did what she had to in order to not have the party break up.

This country is based on and built on lies.

Some people are like that. If you do them one favor, they think you are now their slave and you have to keep serving them. They don't take it is a gesture of kindness and leave it at that. You really have to be cautious about who you help or just do it anonymously. Some people will just test you to see how much they can get from you. Sometimes you have to ignore their sob stories and just listen to them and maybe give some advice or guidance and leave it at that.

There is so much incompetence and corruption at every level of US society. If you do a good job at work they hate you for it. If you are a good tenant they hate you for it. No matter what you do right, if you are kind to people, they hate you for it. They will challenge you for seeing you give money to the homeless. If you stock a free food box, they will stare at you like you are a bum taking from it. No matter what you try to do right, someone is there it destroy it. That is why the whole country is coming apart. They will hide your papers at social security. That isn't just that one office. I have heard of them doing that to delay a new claim. You have to keep calling and calling to check on it if they are delaying. It took a temp to find it and process it before it went through after he said he didn't know why no one was acting on it. They are crazy spiteful people in there and the security guards are on power trips. Oddly enough, I saw a family that just got here from Ukraine waiting for social security service. I wonder if they just hand them the money no problem. From the head librarians, postmasters, cops, you name it, they will find a way to do you a disservice like their job is just a title and they don't have to actually do it properly.

Why not just mail the documents?

If you win an affordable housing lottery, to my understanding, that just gets you in the door of a unit. Then it is between you and your new landlord what the terms of the lease are, and HUD is out of it. There is no asset limit, only an income limit. The only program that will penalize you for having more than 2,000 in assets is SSI which is for very low-income people who don't work or never worked. If this guy can work, he can get on disability and get Medicare with supplemental programs and not pay for any insurance. The problem to me seems to be that there are no caseworkers who take the hand of the poor and make sure they are getting all they are due. The programs are complicated, and you really have to do your research to see what you do and don't qualify for. I recommend you research what is available in your area and apply for all you can. These programs do lift you out of poverty, but you have to know how to work them. You have to know how to deal with some caseworkers who are dishonest and protest for your rights. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development defines an asset as a type of possession that holds value, such as a car or money in a bank account. Subsidized housing programs – whether state or federally funded -- place no limits on the amount of assets a person or family can have in terms of program eligibility requirements. Assets only become an issue when they earn income.https://pocketsense.com/asset-income-requirements-subsidized-housing-8228830.html
