  2. Landlords nowadays have no honor. They would throw you out for no reason if your rent is capped lower than they are charging on other units. They will throw you out if you don't fit their upwardly mobile profile. They will throw you out if they have to renovate but don't want to do it on your low-cost unit capped with rental assistance. Any dirty trick they will do. If it is wrecking your credit, refusing to repair things, being rude, gossiping about you, getting tenants to harass you, filing false eviction charges against you for things you never did, they will do it. They want to scare you out. It isn't all about the landlords. The good ones are maybe leaving the business and the corporations see you as a commodity, not a person. Bad tenants usually fit right into the predatory landlord concept. It is the good tenants who wind up homeless and with a bad record from their landlord preventing them from being considered by another landlord. Renting is the most terrifying, unstable situation. You have neighbors with zero respect and a desire to harm you and managers who don't care and blame you for whatever the problem tenants do. In your own home, you call the shots. That is why it is better no matter what the cost.

  3. Yes, they can be evicted for that, and landlords are glad to do it because they can hike up the rent on non-HUD units.
