  1. People are being pushed out of housing any way possible. It is all leading to the agenda of the common man owning nothing and being happy. I guess you can try for a 20% down payment, but a lot of people can't manage that. It is a gamble what will go up more, rent or home insurance. You even have to pay renter's insurance on a lot of apartments now. Then who knows if taxes will go through the roof? I guess make sure to go and vote against any property tax increases and against any floating of bonds for local spending. So much local money is wasted. Things are rebuilt when then don't have to be. Do you need a new wing on the library or a roof over your head? I feel like they will pay down debts with tax surpluses, so you are going to pay either way, direct tax or bonds. Refinancing is probably not generally a good idea with all the expenses involved. You have to really pore over the details of all the different contracts. Do most people have the time or energy or focus to do that? I knew of a mortgage broker who didn't even want to give you the lowest refinance rate because they get a bigger commission the higher the rate.
