A lot of companies are run by narcissists, so they only want narcissists under them. They don't want honest, hard working people who could turn out to be whistle blowers. If they show a lack of class as in wasting your time and not giving you any explanation for rejection, then they were probably a shady company with shady managers anyway. I don't see how anyone can be overqualified. If that is the case, you can leave off your credentials. Maybe you could also enclose a letter as to why you really need or want the job.
