How long will a beach front apartment in Florida remain affordable?

The problem is rich people buying homes to get richer or to use for recreation rather than shelter. There isn't enough inventory for everyone when it is hoarded by a small segment of the population. Without things like low down payment and low interest loans, more people would be on the streets. Rents are too high. Anything to help the lower income segments of the population is going to keep the inventory out of the hands of the hoarders which is a good thing for fluidity of the market. They sell when they need to move out. They don't keep it and try to raise the rent to the limit of what the market will bear. The problem is with people owning multiple homes, investment corporations, and people turning homes into Air BNB's. Foreigners should not be allowed to come here and buy all the real estate that they want. They should be limited to one property that they will be living in. America is being handed out from under us. What happened to anti-trust laws and why aren't they applied to real estate? When you go to rent an apartment, one company in the area will own most of the inventory and then a couple of other companies the rest. What happens if you leave on bad terms with one? You can't get into all the rest of their properties either. It is terrifying seeing all the people winding up on the streets. What is even scarier is when they just disappear altogether after all the affordable housing is gone. Where do they go and what is done with them? Why don't we see the handicapped and frail elderly out and about on the streets these days? Have they been run into the streets and then just disappeared?
