  1. We definitely don't have the infrastructure to support electric vehicles at all. Not only are they impractical for the driver as far as range, but for the electrical grid in general. Imagine these big rig diesel trucks having to be run on electricity during a summer heat wave. It isn't practical. Then think of all the accidents the semis get in causing major accidents, but this time with a huge fireball from the lithium battery that can't be extinguished. It is an environmental disaster in the making.
