  1. Who cares what the house is worth if you aren't planning on selling it but living in it? Once it is paid off, whatever you get for it is profit. If you are paying the same in rent, you might as well buy.

  2.  @jessn5677  In a rental, if you have to leave before the lease is up, they can make you pay until the rest of the year even if you are broke. You might still owe the money. A least with a house, you do build some equity and it has equity for a debt.
