I loved Flashdance and Blue Lagoon. I guess anything the Rethuglicans deem offensive will be eradicated in support of their self righteous megalomania.

I guess we can thank Texas for starting the new Trump era fascist book burning in the form of film banning and companies being prosecuted for airing them. I guess this will be the end of the film industry, what with theaters closed due to COVID, Netflix is like the last major outlet for film distribution any more. If they go down or have to censor all their movies, there is no point to people even making movies any more. Then the last aspect of art and culture that reaches mainstream audiences will be silenced. As the Iranian author of Reading Lolita in Iran said, when the books and art of a culture are destroyed, the human bodies go with it. MMMerica, MMMMMerica, MMMerica.

This is censorship plain and simple. It is not a dirty movie; it is a movie about growing up in France. You can't even see it on Netflix any more. You see girls doing this all over. What about Here Comes Honey Boo Boo? I guess it is different when a feminist Senegalese Muslim living in France tries to depict it. She showed how in some ways Muslim culture has more respect for women than Western culture. I guess that is a big no no. Coming of age was always tweens. Thirteen is considered adult in Jewish culture. People are just being hyper judgmental these days. It is Rethuglican witch hunting.

Right just let Amazon be the purveyor of everything. What could a monopoly on all sales hurt?

If they are found guilty of anything, I hope the Supreme Court overturns it. I hope someone is going to stand up for freedom of speech and expression. This is no more purient than most of what you see on the street and in the media nowadays. Why this movie is so targeted seems more of like a psy-op than an actual reaction to what is in it.
