  1. With the cities, there are good areas and bad areas. Like the Oranges, South Orange is kind of expensive, West Orange is middle class, and then Orange and East Orange are a little rougher but doable. Newark has nice areas to it like the PAC and some new theater and the biggest cherry blossom park in the country, Branch Brook Park. If you live in NJ, you kind of learn how to deal with different places and extract the best from them. It is kind of funny though when other people are terrified in NJ. It makes the NJ people feel tougher. That must be the pride you are encountering.
