  2. No real cop would do that. Even if they are mean, they like to do little favors for the community to look good. They take every chance they get to assist people.

  3. I am sure she had water. She was no idiot. If she never went hiking, she would be dying just getting out of the car. She was found with parallel abrasion lines across her body. Sounds like she was tied up. I think the locals are covering for the crooked cop. Maybe he was a recruiter for a whole ring of criminals who abused this girl, maybe in the house her body was found behind way on the other side of the mountain from the trail. Nothing in this story is on the up and up. You don't just go on a little hike and die of heat exposure. The trail wasn't even two miles from end to end. The cop was a narcissist who played on her insecurity to go out there and meet him, and on day one she is dead. The FBI should look into this, but I doubt they will care either. The water/heat exposure story is just a convenient excuse.
