  4. Old people with large homes don't have to sell them, and a lot of them won't. Maybe they want to pass them to their children or like the location. Maybe they have nowhere else to go. Maybe they like where they are. You can't blame someone who is living in their home for the housing crisis because they have more room than they need. Large houses cost a lot to maintain, and the owners have saved and budgeted for it. Someone else could buy it and lose it because they can't handle the expenses. Then who would get it, another corporation? The fact is, anyone who has a 4,000 square foot home has more space than they need. Does he think the celebrities should all be run out of their homes in favor of people with ten children? Who has a family that big anyway? The housing crisis is due to zoning laws. They zoned out the housing projects, rooming and boarding houses, and in general anything low income in the name of gentrification, urban renewal, and progress. The result is rampant homelessness. These people generally could not afford or know what to do with a 4,000 square foot house. No old person retiring in their family home is causing them to be homeless. The other zoning problem is allowing Air B&Bs. That is causing many of the long term rentals to disappear so that the owners can make a quick buck. Then another problem is corporate ownership where minimum rents are set by the owners to get maximum profit. They pick and choose who they will rent to, and many people are left out as undesirable.

  5. Abolishing social security and welfare will tank the country faster than anything. These people who get benefits are not a drain but the soul of the nation. If they are disposed of as nonproductive useless eaters, you will just open the door to fascism. Everyone will be reduced to slavery and have to keep proving their worth to have the benefits to live. Elong Musk said a universal currency is inevitable. If he is advising Trump, this could somehow get implemented. Then it doesn't matter what you do, you get the same as the next person. The way it is now, if you are talented, hardworking, and fortunate, you can get ahead. The people on public benefits are the ones stuck at the bottom. If people lead with a conscience, the country will prosper. If people lead with only self-interest and monetary gain as the goal, they will be corrupt and lead the country to ruin. The problem isn't poor people having enough to eat through supplementary funds, it is that some people want to get every last dime out of whoever they can. Prices aren't going down because people don't care about others, only about getting richer. Also, housing is not an asset, it is a resource. It needs to be shared among the population not used as a vehicle to get rich personally or create a personal concept of ideal communities. It is something that needs to be managed as is not controlled or exploited for the personal interest of the owner. There is plenty of luxury housing and a shortage of affordable and almost no very low-income housing available.
