  1. It was a crazy homeless man staying at a nearby hotel who killed his mother and was on lifetime parole. It wasn't someone targeting Asians per se, it was more like a rage filled man who hates older women who remind him of his mother, and she happened to be Asian and he maybe used that as an excuse. He was scary the way he was kicking her. I imagine that the doormen and vendor were maybe to scared to deal with him. Yes they were cowards, but I wouldn't think it was because she is Asian. They maybe thought the crazy man would jump them next, and they weren't ready to try to subdue him.
