You really have to let children eat as much as they have to or else they won't grow right. Food should be priority number two after shelter.

While that is true, he is basically intellectualizing it. Who is offering solutions and better yet, implementing them? It is one thing to bemoan a situation and look at the ins and outs, it is anther to do that for the solution. I think the answer is that there is no solution as long as there is corruption.

Garbage men make a lot and get benefits. That is a truly disgusting and dangerous job. If it weren't for them, we would all be in a lot of trouble. Who would do that if not for good pay and benefits?

Loopholes, aside, there is just corruption at the top. People outright steal and lie. What about Trump declaring bankruptcy as leverage and getting out of paying taxes over and over? What about Walmart getting rich while their workers are told by the company how to apply for SNAP, and this is allowed? The scariest thing is not being poor per se, but not being able to find resources as the poor. Housing is pretty much gone. That is the first priority for everyone, and a lot of people are in cars or on sidewalks or hiding amongst society with no place to stay from day to day. It is almost like a purposely caused famine and dearth of resources. I don't think the poor are respected. They are blamed for their problems. They are chastised for having children or not getting a better job or education. Maybe they are meant to be poor, but that doesn't mean they should have no life at all. They should be able to survive with some level of decency enough to do better if they can.
