Her daughter got an eviction on her record. A lot of the apartments you see online aren't available. If one is available, you have to look perfect to rent it. She has tons of pets; most places won't take all that. Even if you qualify to rent a place, they will sift through looking for the one with the highest credit score or whatever criteria they want to pick who gets it.

It used to be you could find somewhere to go with any job you had. People had suburban three-bedroom homes on a half-acre with trees and worked jobs like car mechanic, security guard, air conditioner repairman, schoolteacher, etc. while supporting whole families. Those same houses now are $450,000 in the original state. A lot of them are built up so that they are even $600,000 now. Who can get a home then? Not everyone starts at the top with loads of money. Then as far as rentals, anyone could get a room years ago or a basic studio or one bedroom apartment wasn't that much more. A room now costs double what a one bedroom used to cost. It is crazy that the only options left for people are super expensive when most can't afford that lifestyle. I think people used to just be more modest and not try to get every dime from whoever they could.

@MelywoodMedia Sometimes neighbors make up lies as to what someone did to get them evicted and their lawyer messes them up or they are too scared to fight it. There are reasons people get evicted other than that they are terrible tenants, but landlords don't bother to find out what happened and give them another chance.

@MelywoodMedia From what I heard, if a landlord even sees an eviction filing on your record, they won't take you even if you proved your case in court.
