in the 1920's in the US there were plenty of American clothing factories. The problem was with unionization, they had to meet minimum health and wage standards. Overseas they do not, so it is cheaper to produce clothes there on the other side of the world and ship them here. These people don't care that slaves and children work there for next to nothing. They don't care that Americans are idle and frustrated and out of work. All they care about is having the biggest and best for themselves.
