  1. Republicans are demonic trash. I am sick of their self righteous selfishness. They have every excuse to rob people in the name of God and their greatness. Of course they want to oppress the poor. They would probably shoot them in the streets like deer and bear if they could. They think the poor are useless vermin to be left to die or worse. The only people who deserve a break in life in their minds is themselves. It is like the randian theology pushed by Ayn Rand as part of a communist plot to destroy the USA. They got these people thinking that enlightened self interest is the highest good, meaning all they have to do is help themselves to whatever they want and it is at the same time blessing everyone else. It is the birth of narcissism as the national ethos that now resulted in the election of Trump. This country will be destroyed if it progresses much further. The fact that there still are foodstamps and other social programs is one of the few moral things left in our national policy. If that goes, there will be nothing to reap but destruction.

  2. One reason they wouldn't kill foodstamps is that it is another form of the farm subsidy. Instead of giving food producers to let their products rot in the fields or just stop production entirely, they give a little pittance to the poor to go buy these products. SNAP is profit for the supermarkets, growers and food manufacturers. Especially in poorer areas, if the SNAP program goes, so do the stores selling food.

  4. It is nearly impossible to cheat and get foodstamps. You have to document every aspect of your living situation and income from all sources and all assets. The only way people maybe waste them is when they eat at these soup kitchens every day and take food from the food pantries and then use the cards to buy food for other people. It is still their money that they are entitled to though.

  8. Certain races or people who come from higher class backgrounds are the ones who probably get stared at and abused. Some people they take for granted that they will use SNAP.

  9. I hate the vile people who abuse and humiliate the poor for using SNAP. They will, like has been said here, stare, change their attitude once the card comes out from friendly and respectful to condescending, contemptuous, mocking, etc. People on line will snarl and push their carts towards you trying to intimidate you and glare at you. It as at the point where it is so abusive to even use these cards that you have to hide it, palm it in your hand and try to use a self check out and hope no one can see your card. Is that fair? And then these same nasty check out clerks, who have a lowly job as it is, they will still ask you, "care to donate a dollar to the hunger relief program?". I guess it is okay when you are donating to the cause, just not when someone they don't approve of is taking. I am waiting for there to be a major fist fight at a check out line because of these scumbags who like to harass people who already are suffering. This tells me a few things about the person though: 1) they aren't as great or high class as they think they are 2) they need to impress people with their arrogance to feel better about themselves 3) they are hypocrites because these SNAP cards pay their wages 4) they like to exploit the weaker people for their own amusement 5) they are uncouth unsophisticated trash So next time you have to put up with major attitude over accepting some help from your own country that you are subject to and pay your own debts to, just remember that. These people are no one special either. The good person is the one with a kind and compassionate heart and humility not to judge others.

It is like com passion, understanding, tolerance and respect for others is a foreign concept. It is like you are in a giant homogenation machine where everything must come out bland, lifeless and white.

  11. Right whatever you say. Our system is the best, but apparently no system works forever. What is the solution in your mind then communism? That didn't work out at all, that turned into totalitarianism at the top. I think our democratic republic was the best hope of a system that could work. The problem is people making excuses to not be involved and throwing their hands in the air saying there is nothing that can be done. You don't need money to be a lobbyist. All you have to do is call your representatives, write letters, start petitions, and make your views known. That is all lobbying is. But some would rather wait for big brother to come and make all those bad rich people disappear and then give all the money to the poor. It isn't going to work out like that either, it never did.
