  1. Battleship Shot versus modern antimissiles? The kinetic energy of all those flechettes, together, isn't a pimple on the ass of the kinetic energy of a 15" to 16" shot. No . . . and I mean zero . . . effect. They won't even deflect it. Those missiles will be 100% ineffectual against a Battleship shot. As a matter of fact, you HOPE the enemy ship will stay straight and stable to fire at your shot. That makes the enemy more likely to be hit.

  2. MIdway. The battle where the USN had prescience; near total knowledge of IJN intentions, dispositions, and command structure; while they-the IJN-knew nothing at all . . . and STILL almost won. Intelligence-wise, it's the worst victory EVER! We held all the cards, and almost threw our hand in with bad tactical reactions, momentary lapses of reason, and admirals who weren't on board with the tactical intent of Fleet Command.
