  1. Standoff detonations. Reminds me of the detonator probe on some HEAT rounds. Same general intent: maximize the weapon's effectiveness.

  2. The 10.5cm Mortar was a complex weapon, as I recall from my reading. Rate of fire was painfully slow, despite the greater range and accuracy, vis a vis standard GrW.
