Gandhi's "The Story of my Experiments with Truth" makes a great read-and an effective counter to Churchill's otherwise excellent historian writings, which are tainted by the rose tinted glasses of Imperialist prejudice. I recommend reading both men, while keeping in mind they are, Gandhi and Churchill, highly partisan; the one an unrepentant racist and white supremacist*, and the other determined to advance the cause of people of color everywhere . . . especially in India. It is racist tripe of the lowest order. And a quote from World War One: "Well, If you knows of a better 'ole, go to it."

  2. And no hate from me. I admire both men . . . for different reasons. Each had great strengths, and each was crippled by hardwired preconception. Gandhi's book is one bookend to Churchill's monumental "Ring" series on my bookshelf. The other bookend is "Kidnapped in London" by Sun Yat Sen. Reading broadens. Broadening breeds better perspective and perspective is everything when it comes to understanding.
