  1. A few billionaires are still squeezing all the money out of the system. These billionaires-like Vince McMahon, in another arena of entertainment- are growing old and stale. The problem is that they've legally closed the door for independent artists to be heard. I write and perform all my own stuff and my local government uses me when a heavyweight is needed. I have more talent in my little finger than ALL OF TODAY"S POP ARTISTS and their agents/producers. Remember, it's easy to lead kids anywhere you want with loud music and shit lyrics that say absolutely nothing. They were doing it in the '60s and still are today. And-yes-Simon, I'm talking about you. I agree about the familiarization thing. My stuff is soooo much more compelling at first listen, because I'm a musical poet, not a freaking hack picked out of modeling catalog.

  6. Love the content. As an accomplished graphic and musical artist myself, however, I feel compelled to give a personal opinion here about your sponsor and its entire raison d'être. My personal view? Don't invest in agents of ownership. Invest in individual artists in your community. Buy a struggling artist a sandwich and you'll have an inside track on his best work when he wants to sell. And you'll have done something wonderful. And be able to hang real art (not a monthly account printout) on your wall at home. Imagine with me all those agents of ownership who didn't give Van Gogh a chance in life. Now imagine them being the ones in charge of deciding what art is worth. My personal advice? Bypass the machine and connect with the artist himself/herself. The pittance you invest in buying him lunch will pay huge dividends when his art goes up for sale.

  7. I really wanted to share this video, as I have statistician friends who would find it most appealing, but I can't, because of the sponsor message. It preaches against my entire existence as an artist ignored by agents of ownership. I lived hard, but, when it came time to part with my best works, I gave them as gifts to those who had previously patronized me with gifts of food, shelter, and friendship. No offense. It's just that, as an artist, I have much higher standards than mere marketers do.

  8. A typical squid or octopus does not live long, but it grows as long as it lives. If Colossal squid have a greater life span than typical squid or octopus, and they, like other squid, grow as long as they live . . . Imagine an abyssal realm of valleys and ridges where millions of larval or young giant and colossal squid pick among the moldering treasures of infalling detritus. It's a mean world down there anyway, but sperm whales and big sleeper sharks got to eat, too. Few squid get to big size, but those who can become monsters. Maybe some whales don't live to tell the tale?

  16. Sorry. Not "Kurki", but "Kukri." (Koo-kree) Entertain, but don't misinform. Mohandas K Gandhi has a great autobiography: "the story of my experiments with truth". A wonderful read, though not as thrill packed as Sun Yat Sen's "Kidnapped in London". Mahatma, on the other hand, is a religious appalation, not a first name.

We needed every bit of hysterical reaction; overpowered brain function, every tendon, all the voluntary muscles; to survive life on the plains against competitors with advantages man lacked- bone crushing bites, thick hides, larger mass, greater speed, shorter reaction times, and instinctually piqued pack-hunting techniques. Now, we don't. Big brains are still useful, but the utility is more subtle than "nature red in fang and claw".
