An interesting, if highly biased, account and thanks for posting.
Ignoring the popular government factor, glossing over the US enforced, oppressive, dictatorship of Rhee and his clique by saying "by the 1980s . . .", and wondering why we were in Korea to "save" anything after abandoning our many promises of independence to the entirety of "Indochin" after the war (such as giving Vietnam back to her French colonial masters, who were historically brutal and unfair in the extreme), are not part of this presentation, but they were-and still are-crucial factors in the perceptions of those who live in that zone.
I am interested to see how you handle our involvement in Vietnam. If you ignore the French history there, then you are no educator, but you are obeying your brief. Sad that educated people would rather misinform and indoctrinate, than further educate, their listeners and viewers, but we are who we are. A well educated citizenry is more motivated to protect the system they live in, willing to help, even fight, for you. A placated, indoctrinated, citizenry is merely something that unethical and immoral people seek to use to their self-centered advantage.
Ultimately, however, if you are trying to sway people to your cause, rather than educate and inform, you are doing your job well and I salute you for it. I don't agree, and lived through the history you have so interestingly distorted to your point, but I know talent when I see it.
