  1. Indeed, Ludendorlf created the "Stab in the back" myth. It was rank apologism, as it was he who pled with the court to sue for peace. He was an unscrupulous man, eager for power, but ill-inclined to accept its consequences. I doubt he was a NAZI ideologue, just as he was no monarchist. He was an opportunist, however, as his actions prove more than once.
