Tank Archives isn't bad. Its work on other nations seems legit from my documentary evidence. The channel often cites sources. There is no deliberate effort to mislead, as far as I see at this point.

Wargaming the invasion at the operational level (divisional/corps level) on tabletop I was struck by the widening of the FLOT as Heeres advanced into the Soviet hinterland. Every mile the front widens and German reserves are eaten up. Gradually, allies (not so well equipped or trained as German formations) are tasked with hiding the flanks, until it becomes a sham. Add to that the Logistical impossibility of moving your rail gauge east at the same pace as your flying columns and I began to wonder what Germany was thinking when it planned this fiasco. Then it struck me: desperation. Hitler had a starving nation. From the German perspective, something had to be done in order to break the English+French coordinated stranglehold on the Deutscher economy or Germans would start starving to death in the streets. Like they had before.

Whatever you do . . . don't leave the Pripet unoccupied! Some crazy Roosky will pull his army in there and bite at your flanks as you surge forward!

Valerie Potapov at Battlefield.ru seems/seemed to have a lot of data collected from both official and anecdotal sources. Dunno about the security of the site, but there's a lot of useful data there.
