What’s the cost to the desert environments to remove it from there? What’s the cost to process and transfer (companies, payrolls, machines, gas, cost of operating and maintenance on all machines and vehicles? What’s introduced into coastal waters and beyond from foreign sands? The questions are endless.

I have a lovely cast iron tea kettle. I had no idea how it was made. I’ve been afraid to use it because I’m afraid of it rusting, and it’s so heavy. I’ve thought about getting rid of it because it’s been a ‘show piece’ in my kitchen (and it’s heavy). Now I know it’s definitely a keeper.

“Invisible jelly” tastes good?

How reminiscent of the tanzanite industry - except it’s in Cali, this time. Well, well.

@TheMurlocKeeper Thank you! I’m definitely going to look into that. It’s a shame for it to just be ‘for looks.’ I should’ve looked into it before, but I just really had no idea about the history of them. Had a prize egg, didn’t know it, til now ~~~~~

Why would I want a lamp made from a condiment?

Why not? ATC lingo is like any other job that has its own lingo. It’s akin to the military in that respect.

There are weeds in my yard. There are very few of them left, and when winter gets here, they’ll all be gone. Right now I’ve got them for $14,000 per kilo. Get them while you can, because there’s no sustainable farming done here. They’re haute cuisine, can cure cure toenail fungus, bad personalities and can be used as incense to purify your toilet, and they make intricate pieces of jewelry and designer clothing. Supplies extremely limited. Best o’ luck, schmucks.

What a lovely thing to see. It makes me feel more sad to see the culture today and what it represents.

That book was required reading in school in the ‘80s. Hopefully it still is.

“But um,” the military is a business.
