  1. History teaches us about these “lone wolf” dictators. Just avail yourself of the troves of information. People don’t read anymore, which I always find so sad. Things like this don’t just happen; the build-up is always there, whether people pay attention or not.

  3. They’re right about one thing: we haven’t seen the worst of it yet. God be with the Ukraine and its people, and with the Russian people who are bleeding from protesting Putin’s war. No telling where some of those “arrested” protesters end up. It wouldn’t surprise me if Putin brought back the gulags and the riot police turn up being the secret police.

  4. Putin doesn’t care anything about any sanctions, he’s had this war brewing for a long time and he’s covered his bases (while living in what may be the biggest “house” on the planet. God bless the people who are running for their lives, and the Russians who are protesting Putin’s war. Speaking of them, let’s pray his riot police aren’t really the newly reinstated secret police.

  5. I think it’s more a policy for most nations to bar the door on any people fleeing a war torn country. During WWII everyone refused the Jews entry. There were a few exceptions, generally the poorer countries, like the Philippines, and God bless them - the people of Shanghai, who welcomed with open arms some twenty-plus Eastern Europe Jews. The Japanese had terrorized the people of China and Shanghai had nothing to offer them, except of course a place to come live, a safe harbor, a place free of prosecution. The US slam hammered the door on allowing refugees and said “no” to any aid for any of the Jewish people; “the quota has been filled, the US has allowed more than the quota provides for refugees.” That was the lame excuse, and it was a bald-faced lie. Washington let it be known that we weren’t fighting a “Jewish war.” This is just how countries act during wartime. It comes down to a dollar and a facial value.
