I’m not far behind you in years, and I find myself unable at times to put my finger on particular words, something that affects my journaling and other writing (much to my chagrin), as well as in speaking with others. I know this isn’t because I don’t read as voraciously as I once did, or because I’m not regularly doing the NYT crosswords. I also know it’s not something that will reverse or improve. It’s very difficult to have to come to terms with, but there it is. I can only accept it as graciously as I possibly can, and hope I don’t become a burden on loved ones. It is what it is. I think facing a thing full on is the best way to go, even with - especially with something such as this. Again, I wish you well in the years you have to go; miles to go before we sleep, to borrow in part from Robert Frost. And truly I wish the both of us many good miles. Take care, as will I.

  23. In ER, we kept a small styrofoam coffee cup for our penny/nickel/dime bets on people’s BAC. Even if you were just coming through ER for something you could place your bet and pick your number. And the standard answer for “how much have you had to drink?” was always (I know you know this one all too well) “two beers.” Roaring drunk, “two beers.” Nothing about them is lovable. Nothing.

  26. We already know what Trump will do. He doesn’t need to keep hammering on useless rhetoric, he needs to just state his policies and how he’ll handle everything. We know what he’s capable of doing. Our country has never seen a president with a more productive record than he has. I know because I ate crow about the man. I never wanted Hillary AT ALL, but he was blowing all the time and I wondered how he’d be as president. I saw - quickly. Never been better than anyone before, and I’m almost seventy. He needs to stick to what his policies are and what he’s going to do to get us back on track, to get our country back. Without him we’ll have no country. It’ll be all out war with Kakula in. Praying, praying, praying. And that’s what this needs - a lot of earnest prayer!

  28. The common ground on this is God’s Word. This is wrong in every way and it shouldn’t even be a topic of discussion. People need to turn to God and stop with this outright sin that goes against His Word. This isn’t about who decides what and when and psychologists and psychiatrists - this is against God’s Word. I have a friend who is saved but lived a gay life for so long. He has told me many times that it’s not anything you’re born with. It’s a sin. To allow people to do any surgery to children, give them chemicals to alter their bodies, even to discuss their ‘options’ is nothing but a sin. This is wrong in God’s eyes. He created male and female. Talk to these children about that. Raise them with the Bible. Provide that option for them. That’s what’s important. That guy on here is going to hell and so are doctors and shrinks and parents who allow the mutilation of any child’s body. Why isn’t the only important thing NOT being brought up? Megyn needs to reevaluate her ideas of ‘Christian’ because none of this aligns with His Word. People need to wake up. Eternity is never ending. Think about that. Give these children the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Get the abomination away from their precious souls.

I’d say that millions of prayers were granted today. Not answered. No one knew this ahead of time. No one. And not one prayer ‘saved’ a man. One other is deceased, two others are said to be in critical condition, another man’s son was treated on scene for a graze to his neck. Many prayers were granted this evening. One family is praying for strength and comfort, and for some kind of understanding as to why their loved one died in front of them. Don’t stop praying. Pray without ceasing. That’s God’s Word.

  44.  @nory8939  I’m waiting for tomorrow’s highlights that’ll be everywhere. I couldn’t watch this if I superglued myself to my TV. I wondered about the size and reactions of the crowd there, and just how people even got in there to begin with. I switched over earlier just to see what was going on but it was quiet, had an echo from the mic, and the backdrop looked more like a news media than a political anything. Nothing to denote ‘this is America’ anywhere. No flags, no red, white and blue. Just empty feeling, empty looking, empty sounding. Bland. I’m also waiting for news afterwards (should be about time) regarding any violence around the place and/or in and around the city from the ‘peaceful protesters.’
