The effects make the dub and give essential flavour.

Incredible video and I had a similar thought while out on my run the other day. How would I be able to record the birds without the background hum of humans. I figured I would have to get up at around 5am and thought that would be pretty hardcore. Now I understand I am a rank amateur and what I really need to do is sit in a swamp surrounded by alligators. Thanks for the amazing content.

When AI music gets thrown into the mix it will change everything yet again, imagine Spotify but with a computer which churns out music for them, I think the only answer is to forget making money and make music because you love it. If you really want to make some money then I think your best hope is playing live.

Part of the reason I got back into hardware music making was the desire to play live and this gives me hope. I think this is why I try and write on the gear I would use to perform live. That way I reckon that if by some miracle I ever get to play live I should be good to go.

Vinyl is a creative medium in its own right. There are other limitations of the medium which create the mood to a lot of albums that were made primarily for a record playing public.

You know what, I have watched yur stuff for a while and I generally like your take on things. I like the idea that patreon is where people can invest in people and not in some weird content farming company. Not being dependent on other companies who have their own agenda I guess means that we get the benefit of your creative brain being given free reign instead of being molded towards a particular money making model. When I grow up I want to be just like you!!!!! Feck it I am tempted by your patreon. I only do one other subscription/donation thing for a small running website which was free, but I really like them and the fact that they are genuinely independent so thought they were worth it.

Superb, much love!

Yep, truly beautiful and definitely a reminder that we should look for influences everywhere.

Still completely confused and what's more I don't think it will make a scrap of difference to me at the moment. Still a nice video and reassuring that I don't have to do anything for at least a month. Ta Benn

Beautiful to watch and listen to. A lesson in its own right

Superb stuff, nice to see people doing good things and I now feel like I need to make a pure behringer analogue jam.

Interesting video and pretty well balanced. I like the behringer synths I have. They fulfil a role for me but as for them as a company I just don't care. If they are going to play petty games then f@ck em, but it will make no difference to my buying habits and at the moment they have nothing I want.

@nojrants when I discovered that you could script for the start and end point of tracks on CD's when burning them I started creating hidden tracks. I would mark them out so if you skipped from say track 1 to track 2 you would miss audio which was lying between what was marked as the end of track 1 and the beginning of track 2. Only people who listened without skipping would hear everything. I really liked the idea of leaving creative easter eggs and that is something that kind of thing is I think lost on streaming services. No special gifts for the initiated.

Interesting takes.

Sweet, proper dub

Glad that somebody is starting to think about how artists can genuinely retain some control.

Very interesting. I have no idea where things are going to go but when the change comes I think it will be pretty quick

Spot on, AI music will make no difference to my music earning potential.

Back in the 90s I had mates who would supply me with warez CDs every few months. It was great for a while, but when I eventually got a good enough internet connection my productivity dropped in direct relation to my acquiring new plugins. What it did do was teach me what tools I really wanted and needed, and now I try and do everything in hardware because I have more fun with it.

Nice to see an even toned position. Things still remain the same for me. I will buy Behringer gear if it is something I need, I don't care enough about their business practises, and to be honest I think you start picking apart any company you will find something dodgy there somewhere. Behringer just seem to like to play the villain and as a marketing strategy I think it's working. The synth community has spent about the last month or two talking about them and the only thing worse than being talked about is...... Not being talked about.

It's good and bad. Yes the entry costs are hugely reduced and this is a good thing......, but there is no guarantee that you will ever be heard, with the huge amount of content that is produced every single day some luck is still involved to give that initial boost. But yep I am more positive about the industry and the beautiful fragmentation which allows the strange and eccentric to have a platform as much as the commercially exploitable.

Really important to be aware of inbuilt bias. So easy to jump on a band wagon. What I find most strange is the way that a lot of these large companies that encourage huge amounts of group conformity bill themselves as the outsiders and rebels, which is the complete antithesis of what they are actually doing.

If it don't sound OK on a mono mobile phone then no amount of fancy processing will help.

@tungtobak OK used in the sense of tolerable and recognisable.
