As much as I dislike the F-35 and it's problems. It's the only jet worth selling. I'm with the US in not selling the F-22 to anyone, seeing as though it's too advanced. I think all US F-35 need to be consolidated into the F-35C. As for the F-15 there still isn't anything that can shoot it down easy in air to air combat. Additionally keep the F-16 in service would help tame cost. My suggestion, especially for the Airforce is to withdraw from the F-35 program and work toward replacing the F-22 or reducing it's cost.

F-35 was a big waste of money. The F-18 was also a waste of money. The A-10, F-14, F-15, F-16 and F-22 were the best jets we've created. A F-21 Super Tomcat would've been a better solution than a F-18 or F-35 imo. Granted the F-18 is a great refueling aircraft but you barely even needed to refuel a F-14. All that complaining about the F-14 cost but still spend way more for the F-35 which isn't better, just dumb as hell. Should've modified the F-14 for stealth and gave it drones used by the RIO. Stealth is about to become obsolete at least for these slow fighters.

@dumdumbinks274 physically impossible to achieve and yet we have partially stealth F-15s flying around. The F-35 project failed the moment they chose to design a 3rd airframe and fundamentally change the aircraft. It is not nor will it ever be an equal to the F-22 in any varient what so ever. I don't dislike the jet. And it's not perfect with it's stubby wings that make carrier landing more difficult than necessary. If you read through some of Lockheed Martin releases, they even said, it's likely that a new air frame would take the F-35 place prior to it's run, which isn't farfetched seeing as though the F-16, F-15, F-14, F-22, and several other jets all were scrapped prior to the intial estimated orders were fulfilled. I've listened to actual F-35 pilot's and it's not a cohesive package hence the reason the F-15 is being put back into service. The A-10 being completely overhauled. The branch heads would love to go full F-35 but they literally can't afford the bill. Not only can't they afford the bill the pilot's don't get enough seat time either. If we ever did go to war, it'd better be ended quick b/c the F-35 takes a long time to go through repairs and stealth coatings. I think our near future move will be to go fully unmanned in a new airframe.

@Joe-rx7ht I disagree. The F-15EX doesn't require stealth due to its payload capacity. The F-35 vs the F-15 with external payloads, factor in cost and capabilities. The F-15 exceeds the F-35 in a non-stealth role, hence the reason for the F-15EX. Keep in mind the F-15 has 2x engines. The cockpit is upgraded to the 5th gen standards, it'll be able to shoot high off bore with the new helmet and targeting. It's also going to become unmanned. The F-15EX is cheaper and can carry far more munitions. We already have a shit ton of them. It'll also recieve some stealth capabilities. Is it better than the F-35? No. That's not what I'm saying. But it is better than the F-35 in it's role. The Airforce is the smartest branch, pretty sure they know better than you or I. Keep in mind that jet can carry a big ass nuke and it's a lot faster than the F-35 and has 3x the range without drop tanks. So much for being new. F-22 = scalpel F-35 = filet knife F-16 = steak knife F-18 = swiss army knife F-15 = butcher knife A-10 = butter knife Lastly keep in mind the supply chain is totally fucked still. Wanting some new air craft is not smart b/c you'd need new training.

@Joe-rx7ht oh and those engines were upgraded

@Joe-rx7ht they also upgraded its manuverability on the F-15EX. It can now manuver at 7gs/8gs the way the old ones could at 4gs.
