  1. Most places in the US and around the world age of concent is actually 16. I think it has to do with population region. Most developed and dense areas are 18 but areas like middle America are far less dense and most places are 16, some 17. I think Canada is also 16. If you look at a country like Brazil who faced an extreme increase in STD, they lowered the age of concent to boost there population but they have restricted and unrestricted laws in place although the age of concent is 14. Restricted the two parties have to be within a certain age range. Unrestricted it's 18 like most places.
