@captain_context9991 It didn't sell well, b/c you actually needed to know how to drive genius. It was designed as a race car first ie the offset pedal box. Been to plenty of car shows over the years, and not having an atx. option w/trac. ctr. pushed potential buyer's elsewhere after test drives. Lambos sell well (questionable), b/c they changed to an AWD setup. But did you forget Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Pagani nearly died off on multiple occasions? 👀 Matter fact Porsche nearly died off too and was only saved by it's SUV line and female buyers. Bugatti isn't even profitable hence the reason they were sold to Rimac. You speak like all these brands were successful. 😭 Brother, sports cars don't sell well in general, especially in the US, b/c there's too many overweight people and potential owner's require 'easy mode' to drive. The Viper was used as a loss leader for the Hellcat.

@captain_context9991 You do realize the lap record attempts were being done on a wet track/semi wet track. The problem wasn't even the damn car, it was the over heating tires. Mischa went over the record attempts a long time ago. Not to mention the driver having a scheduling conflict and having to swap him out for someone who'd never driven a Viper a day in his life actually setting the record. It was crowdfunded and ultimately ran out of money to make another attempt. It's still the fastest manual transmission car around the ring. It's literally the 10th fastest production car behind cars worth 3x to 30x it's price. The AMG One is essentially a Formula 1 car.

@captain_context9991 Back in the 90s I watched the Viper's crush at LeMans multiple years and was constantly restricted and they still won even with less power. They have a 163/99 win record.
