  1. To get those swirls on camera, you need to take a photograph with a stills camera. Preferably using a Neutral Density filter. I recommend using a stable tripod and minimum 3s timer delay. For best results use a Macro Lens that exceeds 100mm at 1:1 reproduction. To start you can use your smartphone, that way it won't cost a arm and a leg. Set your lens to F16, also a smaller sensor like APS-C or M43 will give better results than FF or MF since you want more DOF for the sharpest depth possible without breaking the bank.
