@stayoffthemarbles6790 I don't doubt that for a second. In all honesty neither option is actually a good option, but both are a better option than the current option. Defiant X has an advantage in stealth, footprint and cost. Valor has slightly higher top speed and slightly longer range. 2400nm isn't combat miles. It's combat miles are between 500 - 900nm which make both comparable with Defiant X +700nm. What gives the Valor the edge, is it's basically a 2nd generation air craft. However all Osprey have been grounded. They all have problems when operating in sandy and loose surface conditions (debris going through the engines).

@gavynhohon2818 yes, should've specified. Also the ones in Tokyo. The Airforce don't have the luxury of hovering over the water pretty much unnoticed. The sand and debris there engines suck in and needing to moving quickly means they're at higher risk for an accident. Can't say it wasn't a good decision since they have less accidents and fatalities than the Marines. They need to get more protocols in place for operating those things. They can't move quickly from take off to hover or hover to landing. All these years, you'd think they'd have it figured out by now
