@entertained... A halo car/performance car is a car brands loss leader. Manufacturers sell cars to dealer's so car sales isn't entirely a good number to use b/c the manufacturer sales are how many cars dealerships bought at wholesale prices. If they sell 15k which is doubtful that'd actually would be good numbers. One of the big problems even now is the Type R is still over priced by dealerships. Yes when it involves marketing, brand identity, reputation, publicity and life long buyer's who also buy other products. Comes with a 6spd manual and really any car these days with a manual is typically directed at car enthusiast. 1/3 of major companies annual budget is spent in marketing and advertising hence why the premium and performance cars get ad placement.

@entertained... Honda money comes mostly from motorcycle sales like it always has. No door's. Before Covid Acura sales been struggling. In nearly 20yrs they've had maybe 2 good year's. The Civic Type-R, very high demand 5 door car can't sell due to dealer markup. Honda and Acura have sales issues mostly due to its pricing and bad marketing. Again the Integra is a freaking MANUAL 🤦🏾♂️ who do you think they are targeting that to? A high performance, 6spd manual luxury sport hatchback. Honda Civics still sell into the 300k units. Acura is building a full line up of Type-S models. It's not hard to tell they are simply trying to capture Civic sales on a luxury sport model, but it won't work b/c it's manual. Building a 2 door version is more about brand awareness and marketing than sales. They are moving the NSX out and the Integra in its place. Mostly likely there will be a 2 door version.

@entertained... that's an automatic fail. I don't see Acura improving any of their sales unless it's an SUV redesign. The TLX still hasn't hit 30k sales and the Civic literally sits around 250k-300k every year. This move with the name was a horrible one. I do think they may actually do the 2 door version. The crazy thing about the market is, a Toyota Yaris GR gets made and Toyota can't sell enough and it's tiny, not practical, 2 door. But it's fast, awd, and basically a rally car made in Mexico 😆 makes no sense.
