Really tight engine bay for such a small engine. The Rally cars seem to have more space upfront.

So let me get this straight. A 1000hp Hellcat is slower up Pike's Peak on grippy tires, and fresh pavement than the 90s GT cars with around 300hp? Did the track get longer? or is that thing so scary it's hard to push? Even Randy ran a near sub 10min time back then in a BMW M5.

Had to do some digging. 95 the track was shortened by 3miles due to it being the worst weather conditions in the history of Pike's Peak. They shut down the summit. Driver's ran 16miles instead of the full 19miles.

It's your speed in the STI. Not sure if you guys tried, but you could have increased the tire pressure which would give you at least 2mpg better fuel economy. Plus with that added weight you should've increased the psi anyway if you hadn't. For a heavy load you should be +4 psi over the door sticker. 65mph is the most optimal hwy speed. I have a Prius and a E350 Merc. The Merc can do 35, 40mpg hwy at 65mph even at 70, 72mph. But 75, 80mph, even 90mph it's giving me 24mpg and as low as 22mpg. Granted I only have 320hp. The Prius on the other hand does 50mpg easy. If I hit 80mph, it drops to 43mpg 😂 but it's slow asf 🤣
