I'm almost 50 and both of my parents act similar to yours. I think it's the defense mechanism of parents who only did so much and know it.

The people who desperately need to see this, will be the ones who won’t have the patience and likely won’t think they need to learn anything new.

John, then those men should've stayed in the children's lives or not impregnated multiple women. Both of my nephews have custody of their children and they make sure that they're taken care of quite well.

BigT84 If having children when you don’t want to and have zero support from your family, yes, it’s oppression! Not having any choices about your own life and getting married and being stuck in one place isn’t a “blessing.”

123 321 Did you see the warnings for Black people who were volunteers in the Ukraine? They were told that using racial slurs was to be expected. I don’t know if the N word with the hard r is used by people in other places because they hear it and see it used in Rap lyrics/shows and videos and think it’s acceptable? Or are they perfectly aware of its meaning and are just racist?

neusa curado Apart of the horrible treatment that African Americans and Native Americans suffered, look up the Japanese Americans who were interred in a camp (rounded up and kept as prisoners) and the Mexican and Mexican Americans who were abused, killed and deported even if they were citizens during the Great Depression. These 2 incidents I never knew about until I randomly stumbled upon a documentary.

Neither of those classes were mandatory. You had several different electives to choose between. The reason why so many schools no longer have those extra options, is due to the “No Child Left Behind” law that G.W. Bush signed, forcing school funding to be dependent on test scores.

Mecayla, none of the things that you mentioned was taught to me in school. My parents were the ones who are supposed to teach you life skills.

These are parents that believe in conformity and being different was frowned upon. I still remember my father being horribly degrading because I didn’t dress like everyone else and he worried too much about what other people would think.

Triple, yes, you were supposed to legally have one wife and that was it, but cheating on that wife was something that women were to ignore. My parents have been married for 62 years. My father abused my mom until I was born, cheated on her and even has bastard, adult children, but she stayed because she was raised to believe that you stay married no matter what. I wonder how many lifelong marriages were healthy relationships where no one cheated?

Chrystal, that's nice.

AJ Rojas You’re conveniently forgetting that parts of the USA was Mexico and they were here before,as well as the German, Japanese, Italian, Greek, etc,. immigrants. With a surname of “Rojas” you really seem to think that you’re a white American who’s more intelligent and better than everyone else. What have you done to help better the country?

Bisi Yahaya There were areas that were nothing but American Blacks who owned and ran everything. Unfortunately, white Americans didn’t like it and destroyed their towns and cities while the government did nothing. It hasn’t happened in a very long time, but it surely destroyed any generational wealth and justice for those who were killed.

Back then the women mostly went to college to meet a man to marry and support them since working women were looked down at if they were married.

Teenage mothers were sent away or shunned up until the 1970s. Birth control was not given to single women and married women without the husband's signature. Crazy that we're going backwards!

Max, condoms existed then and I can only imagine how much Greg wishes his life was different.
