  1.  @Zaxares  The positive note is that the definition of what constitutes "our tribe" has expanded over time. From the immediate family, to the extended family, to the literal tribe, to the village, to the city state, to the nation state. If we survive long enough, we're bound to make the next leap and see all humanity as our tribe. COVID was merely the first test, which we failed. There will be more.
