If they ever stop fighting their customers and betraying partners — yes. But they won't.

They weren't a nation: they were a quasi-state.

@acolyte1951 because the nature of the empire underneath it defined its fabric, and most of it didn't manage to reform into something modern, to this day.

@acolyte1951 yes, you can try and call something a culture, you can even call millions of people one nation. Nations live and extinct only when war wipes them, leaving little to no members of those nations; while in their case, «the soviets» are more like undead. The USSR wasn't a nation, they were specifically proud of how many nations they «united». After all, you can call both me and you humans, this alone doesn't make us people of one nation, right?)

Keep doing the same thing and enjoying the same «prosperity».

Both, in fact.

@acolyte1951 that's the power of lies: they're still calling themselves a single nation on the outside, while still keeping to suppress one another inside, and within their reach.

@acolyte1951 thanks. As I see it, many of them wanted to «just live» and/or «live better»; while what they actually tried was building a platform to consume every other country. «Liberate», as they called it. It was easier if you call some country liberated after you attacked and defeated it. Just as they tried in Georgia and Ukraine in 21th century, but I'm happy they're defeating themselves against a country that doesn't want back to the USSR.

@d3thkn1ghtmcgee74 those like this one will refuse to realize there's no such thing as hostile economic sanctions these days.
