“Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all -

6string1 You are absolutely wrong. In double blind studies hydroxychloroquine doesn't help treat covid. It doesn't matter what you feel, you have to respect the scientific method.

He wants us to pay attention to him really bad. Don't forget he has the emotional IQ of a 10 year old.

I kept forgetting there wasn't an audience, every time she hit a high note I was like "hmmm tough crowd."

6string1 Your own source published an article 2 weeks ago saying hydroxychloroquine "failed to improve outcomes in those with mild-to-moderate disease, but also produced a higher rate of cardiac and liver side effects." Your own sources agree with me lmao

@tristenatorplaysgames6833 That is anecdotal evidence. The plural of anecdote is not data. By your logic, if somebody who recovered had a Monster Energy drink could we conclude that the drink saved his life? Of course not. That's why this is studied in double blind tests. And the LAST people you should be getting medical info from is a Republican senator. Please listen to the experts who have spent their lives in medicine; not a politician who is supporting the president's weird obsession with a failed treatment option.

@tristenatorplaysgames6833 I'm sorry but I don't think I'm capable of teaching you the scientific method in a way you'll understand. Helping you is beyond my ability. I can only suggest that you look at a totality of the evidence and rememeber that there is a very high burden of proof when 1 (or several) doctors try to refute multiple double blind trials only with first hand cases.

@tristenatorplaysgames6833 Also the issues with getting your info from a Republican when they run counter to a plurality of the scientific community is because there are hundreds of examples of Republicans lying to the public about health related matters purely for political gain. They routinely disgreard all experts whether they are medical, economic, or scientific such as with climate change.

@Andsleeter That's another great example of why we can't just take people's opinion as a fact. No seriously educated person would ever speak with that level of certainty. They will say "there is or is not evidence that hydroxychloroquine is an effective treatment." Anybody guarenteeing a treatment as 100% successful like she did must have ulterior motives.

Also if anybody is still reading this thread I imagine you self identify as a skeptic and want to use every tool available in the pursuit of truth. If you want to get better at spotting biases, fallacies, and understanding scientific literature check out the podcast Skeptics Guide to the Universe. The panel host is a doctor and specializes in separating real evidence from pseudoscience and you will gain scientific literacy by listening.
