  1. My understanding is Hancock and Bauval needed an approx. 10,500 b.c. date in order for the "lion" to line up with the leo constellation. But, it would appear the sphinx was Anubis, a dog. But either way, anyone trying to date the sphinx, in order to support any preconceived notions, is misguided. For example, if the agenda is to support a biblical timeline (i.e; christian perspective), one is forced to have nothing existing before approx. 5000 b.c..
