You answered your own question.

It's quite simple, actually: Trump said 'clean your room, or I'll take your toy away', Ford had a hissy fit, stomped his feet, and screamed 'NO! I will not clean my room!" Trump said 'Fine, then I will take all of your toys away'. Ford realized he should just clean his room, like a big boy.

Sweden is well below the average. And in the coming weeks, they will stand out as one of the success stories.
4
Speak for yourself.
3
Of course he'll see this as a victory, because this is exactly what he said he would do if Canada retaliates, instead of just securing our Border.
3
Foolish advice.
2
@Diggilicious Trump Bad!!! Wwwaahhhh!!!
2
Totally wrong concerning Sweden. After this interview, he said they need 70% immunity to stop virus deaths. Today it is estimated Sweden is at 20%. But look at their numbers. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/sweden/

@thedisconnect5769 Most liberal gun owners are not legal gun owners.
2
@ yea, it's called a pelt.
2
@BamaKuntryBoy Indeed. Why can't folks just listen to what he says???
2
Nothing funny about a communist takeover.
2
That's one way to flatten the curve.
2
@Origional_Gumby Everything right of the crazy, woke far left is now considered right wing. I would argue Trump is center-right, and Ford is center-left, i.e; too progressive.
1
@KR-nv3ru I think Canada does, but we were never given the chance... Yea, freedom!
1
@vikz5786 ...the stated objective failed... Exactly... "They blindly closed down entire societies"... instead of focusing their attention, and considerable resources, on the most vulnerable, and their needs.... Cause and effect. It's criminal, actually.
1
@Laura-uc6zo Not at less than +4% daily, it won't... More like 50 - 60% more. And by that time, Canada and the States will be close to having similar per capita death tolls, as Sweden. By the end of May, they will likely have higher per capita death tolls than Sweden.
1
@marklord3297 Putin and Trump respect each other as Negotiators. We have yet to see who is capable of negotiating for Canada. And PLEASE, do not mistake Political Posturing for actual negotiating skills. For as we have all just seen, Ford is in over his (over-sized) head.
1
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/sweden/ He claims Sweden has not reached herd immunity. Then explain Sweden's case and fatality numbers.

PCR is not a diagnostic tool, but a replicating tool. https://newtube.app/user/Darek/Oz9FLWU

Damaged DOZENS of buildings??? A dozen, at most. Several on the east side, and the AT&T building on the west side.
1
@debrap947 The Tariffs ARE a negotiating tool. It's the Art of the Deal, after all. But I guess your TDS makes it hard to see.
1
@jamesridley8565 Maybe Canada should have China role in with their Military. That'll show 'em. Right? I mean, what could possibly go wrong???
1
@Msham420 He's all talk. A few weeks ago, he was on the News, saying screw Trump. Next interview I saw, he was saying we need to deal with the drug production and cross-border smuggling. And lo and behold, in yet another interview he said we need to secure our border. So which is it, Douglas??? And this was just catching the news here and there, throughout one single afternoon. He's just trying to look all tough and "patriotic". I knew he would eventually cave. I will never vote Liberal, but I couldn't bring myself to vote for Ford, either. We need real conservatives, not Progressive ones.
1
I disagree. I see it as Ford trying to look tough before the cameras, and then just doing what he should have done in the first place.

@supersayianjim2-real-face Zelensky 2.0

@michaelhongs3644 The U.S.'s wave is behind Sweden's by a few weeks. Nevertheless, they will have the same number dead / million, within a week or so. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_pandemic_data/Sweden_medical_cases_chart https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_pandemic_data/United_States_medical_cases_chart https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
1
@cathalodiubhain5739 look at the +%'s to the right... cases and deaths are slowing. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_pandemic_data/Sweden_medical_cases_chart

@thedisconnect5769 And for some reason, they like shooting each other? They're a strange bunch, to say the least. ; )
1
@thedisconnect5769 ;)
1
@Grae2079 I'm waiting for our (Canadian) Feds to push back harder, just to see Trump cancel all Military aid to Canada. What are our so-called Leaders thinking??? It's like watching a little girl pick a fight with a MMA Heavyweight.
1
@jamesridley8565 Yep. And the whiners will blame Trump instead of blaming our own incompetent, so-called Leaders.
1
@VTRIGGERS It's true. And Trudeau admitted that to Trump, weeks ago. And yet, here we are?!
1
@ Why is it Liberals now love the status quo so much? Historically, one might think it's Conservatives who would be more inclined to "hinder progress". And yet here's Trump trying to make things more fair, more EQUITABLE, for all parties concerned, and the very people who go on and on about EQUITY, are the ones opposed to Trump's goals; and who's strategies, btw, have not only brought together the various Partners in a very serious and transparent way, but have also opened a window into how our Politicians really think and operate. I fail to see the bad in this.
1
@gror7849 The U.S. never caved.
1
@mark_beastpriest5539 Trump said secure your border. Castreau and Ford stomped their feet and yelled NO! We will not! You call that negotiating??? It reminds of a little kid that refuses to clean their room... and then eventually does, but not 'til after having a tantrum.
1
@mikeinthetruth 0.2% Nope. More like 2% (that's 10x more, btw). Don't try to gaslight me. I watched Castreau and Ford both talk tough, and then concede to securing the Border... unlike Alberta's Premier, who agreed immediately with Trump and was spared all this drama.
1
@andreawalli9477 He hasn't "walked back" anything he didn't already say is conditional.
1
@ 20% = 0.20 2% = 0.02 0.2% = 0.002 How am I doing??? (btw, I was a Math Major)
1
@ My Stock Market??? I'm Canadian.
1
@ Are you suggesting one must be American in order to agree with Trump??? And so, by default, I MUST agree with our so-called leaders??? That's just daft.
1
It's a negotiation. How do you not see this???
1
@marccharles5500 150,000 ??? It would only take a few dozen.
1
@ohno1017 indeed, like what Cuomo did during covid; only this time, there will be no power to hospitals and chronic care facilities. what could go wrong?
1
@StephensStudio-1 The whole Tariff thing IS Him cleaning up the mess. Decades of Non-fair Trade with Canada, that is.
1
@frannymcb_ Scared? No. Serious about negotiating a fair deal? Yes.
1
@ Trump doesn't need me to speak for him. He has the largest megaphone (or should I say MAGAphone) in the World. And do you think individuals such as myself are incapable of looking at the history of Tariffs between our 2 Countries? You think we can't handle complex issues? You think we lack the necessary Critical Thinking skills to tackle such subjects? I would argue it is those with TDS that lack those abilities. Cry Orange Man Bad all you want. It won't change anything. It hasn't yet, and never will. Oh, btw, Trump demanded Ukraine declare a ceasefire. Zelensky said no. Well, guess what? They're now talking ceasefire. ; )
1
@ How so?
1
@PoorManTravel yes, we just need to look at the usual death trends, for the accompanying comorbidities. If all their numbers drop suddenly, we will know covid was listed as cause of death, instead of them. ; )
