They have to pay those taxes, city taxes, water taxes, taxes to reduce submerge NYC, school taxes, road taxes, etc. NYC is more expensive than any other states of USA. it is so hard of anyone to leave NYC. This is why mayor throw in illegal immigrants to confuse computerize system or screw up the system. if you work financial job or sector; you are stabilized and very lucky. This means you can buy house, cars, etc. But very hard to leave the city. Worker need to make sure no one cheats money 24/7. This is why is hard to get out the city. Restaurant job is very stressful. you don't get to see anything outside the city. you have work and work.
