  6.  @marier.245  I'm no expert. But from a casual search, it appears that influenza and corona viruses are members of different phylums, making them far, far from closely related. As I understand it, the problem with Covid 19 is not principally the CFR, but that it is new and we don't know what it's epidemiological potential is. It may only cause a few thousand deaths or it may kill millions. We just don't know, so taking precautions, even extreme ones, is prudent at this stage. Maybe I'm wrong about that. We know flu will kill a certain number of people each year and we're all fine with that. If we weren't, we would have put more effort into eradicating it. Instead we have people neglecting to get their shots while others type 'NeVeR gEt ThE fLu VaCcInE!!!' and others, well, they die.

  7. I'm guessing you're concerned about hand to face contamination. Maybe ease off the washing a little. Assess your risk factors, take care of environmental sources of infection. Perhaps you could try wearing nitrile gloves to remind yourself, though they do get sweaty. Maybe wear a mask if possible, like the doctor says, to keep your hands off your face. Don't panic.
