  1. TBH it's a technical aspect of the disease that is of interest to epidemiologists and other academic researchers. It may be of interest to medical practitioners depending on how fine grained their treatment strategies are. I'd imagine that doctors and nurses don't give it too much thought, so long as their patients stop dying.

  12. Preferably medical oxygen, the cylinder is black with a white band. You also need a regulator, oxygen tube and mask. Run it at 8 litres a minute, or 2-3 litres a minute if you are using nasal prongs. Plain black tanks are welding oxygen that is not intended for medical use and I haven't researched the risks of breathing non medical oxygen.

  13. Maybe but not necessarily. Accounting for uncertainty is all part of the data collection process and it's routine to qualify a given measure with a degree of confidence. So while the headline numbers may be merely indicative, a more detailed analysis would make estimates of the number of unreported cases. Once the antibody test is available a more leisurely sample of exposure rates can be conducted.
