I believe the 2020s have so far born out that hypothesis...π

Hey, I STILL play Compact Discs! And I still use DVDs as well.

This video reminded me of the following quote from physicist Niels Bohr, which has fascinated me for many years. Before posting this comment, I checked online to make sure I remembered the quote correctly. I was a bit surprised to find the quote is actually longer than I was aware of. All I knew previously was the first sentence. The second sentence was new to me: "Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real. If quantum mechanics hasn't profoundly shocked you, you haven't understood it yet." -- Niels Bohr

I guess Germany really picked a bad time to close those nuclear reactors...π€¦ββοΈ

Please! Just saying "She sells seashells by the seashore" IN ENGLISH Is a VIRTUAL IMPOSSIBILITY for ME, and English is my native language!! πππ

The Flat Earth Society. They have members all over the globe...π

SABINE: "The remaining problem is that we can't breathe carbon dioxide. I mean we can, but not for very long." Just as ANY naval vessel can be a minesweeper ONCE...π

After the year 2020, I have more NEGATIVE ENERGY than I know what to do with...π

FWIW: I remember the first time, several years ago, when I saw an ad in a sale flyer for OfficeMax for a One Terabyte External Hard Drive. I remember thinking something to the effect of "The future is now." I wish I had clipped that advertisement and saved it, but I never did.

Sabine: You need to make a follow-up video on the "selling the waste to aliens" bit...π

Regarding Mr. Hoyle, I am reminded of this cliche: "Do not [DEFECATE] where you EAT."

Β @CAThompsonΒ >>> Or BITE IT. π
2
"Well, unless you've been living under a rock..." AFTER the year 2020, I think I am going to RELOCATE UNDER ONE and STAY THERE...π
2
I still accept the evidence that the Earth is not flat because if it were, CATS would have KNOCKED EVERYTHING OFF OF IT ALREADY...π
2
NOT a very ATTRACTIVE proposition, eh? π

Regarding creating portals in the ceiling and floor and then falling through them, I would think atmospheric friction would limit your maximum velocity. EDITβ I posted this comment before Sabine touched on it in the video.

Β @fermansmith6042Β >>> In 2022, NOT so surprising...π

Starting at about 03:46 in this video... Sabine: "...which is hard to do with Teflon, unless possibly an alien pan dealer comes your way.' π€π€π€

I just remembered: Hyperspace Jump Points in BABYLON 5 are different colors based on whether they are going into or coming out of Hyperspace.

Hello, SKYNET.

Starting at about 10:36 in this video: Sabine becomes filled with envy. OR she becomes an Orion slave girl. π

Β @stclairstclairΒ >>> I was a mechanic as well...ππ

SABINE: "...try not to fall off the sky." THAT has been a goal since humans started being lifted into the sky on/with kites -- YES, that is the thing -- AND the Montgolfier Brothers first lofted a duck, a sheep, and a rooster in a balloon in the 18th century...π {TBH, I am not sure how much DANGER the duck and the rooster were actually in. The sheep would probably be another story if the balloon had crashed...π}

@Sabine Hossenfelder >>> "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" is nothing new...π

I am currently about halfway through this video. My concern about 'Climate Change', or 'Global Warming' as it was once known, is NOT and it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. My concern is WELL OVER 20 YEARS AGO certain people -- including but not limited to Al Gore -- were saying WITHIN 20 YEARS the Earth would be uninhabitable due to Global Warming. Well, it has been OVER 20 YEARS since then and most of my home state of Florida is still above water. I find this is somewhat similar to the UNGROUNDED FEAR of nuclear fission power. What the facts say and what people believe are NOT always the same thing.
2
Β @BassotronicsΒ >>> In that case I am converting to Judaism. I WILL NOT require any cosmetic surgery...π

FWIW, on a serious note {and YES, I can be serious}... I have worked in Aviation -- mostly on the maintenance side of the house -- for much of my adult life. Just as some people's passions are horse riding or sailing, mine is flight. If ANY GROUP comes at ME trying to PUT THE KIBOSH on Aviation, uh, let us just say it WILL NOT go well for them. I have a SIMILAR REACTION to the folks claiming the Apollo astronauts DID NOT land on the Moon. 'Nuff said....

Great video, Sabine...π

GOOD: Nuclear Batteries that last can YEARS or even DECADES. NOT-SO-GOOD: Developed by the same country that brought us the CHINESE MEXICAN BEER VIRUS, as I like to call it.

At the risk of becoming political, which I try not to be overbearing about: As I was watching the first four minutes of this video of the abbreviation "D.O.G.E.," and the reason it exists, came to mind.

In other words, the idea sucks and will eventually go down the tubes. πππ

NO parts of REALITY were harmed during the posting of THIS particular comment. However, a VERY LARGE NUMBER of photons, electrons, and binary bits were TERRIBLY INCONVENIENCED...π

Sabine: "I really don't understand why some science results make headlines and others don't." "Why?" IMO, SIGNIFICANT SEGMENTS of the news media are INCOMPETENT. Try reading an aviation-related news article written by non-aviation journalists. 'Nuff said....
