  1. FWIW: I am originally from Florida, but I have been living in northeast North Carolina in mid-1995. I also lived in Morehead City, NC, near the central east coast of the state, from 1986 to early 1988. In both cases, I moved to "The Tarheel State" while serving in the US Coast Guard. My ex-wife, who I am still a close friend with, now lives not too far from Goldsboro, NC {approximately 134 miles south-ish of where I live now}. Two high school friends of ours from Florida, a husband & wife, also live near Goldsboro {the husband is retired from the USAF}. It was NOT until SEVERAL YEARS AFTER moving to NC in 1995 that I learned about the USAF's B-52 crash near Goldsboro, which occurred in January of 1961 {the month and year I was born}, AND the fact that some components of one of the two H-bombs deployed in that crash are still buried in the ground.
