Back in 1980 or 1981 I purchased an automobile tape player at a garage sale that could play EITHER 8-tracks OR cassettes IN THE SAME MACHINE. It had one single opening that would take either style tape {one at a time}. I had the thing for a few years until it quit working. I guess it got thrown out. I WISH I had kept it just for the novelty.
